Unique Solutions were recently challenged with designing an interactive business game for 80 people, the theme being "The Changing Market". We chose screen printing as the medium as it allowed us to mirror many business realities. We had 10 teams working collaboratively to deliver a product, printed t-shirts, for a client. Teams were required to manage the client, have designs approved, secure finance, buy resources, and receive skills training before they were able to set up a production line and produce their t shirts.

As the project developed, changes were subtly introduced. Legislation was suddenly required to operate the business; then individuals were moved across teams replicating changes to personnel in the workplace. The change which caused the biggest emotional reaction was when the price of raw materials doubled. As the teams had devised their strategies around resources being available at a certain price, this meant the final hour or so of the project was frantic as more finance needed to be raised to complete the project. The end result however was one to be proud of!

Our client was delighted that were able to take a conceptual brief and turn it into a practical, enjoyable business game which mirrored many of their current realities.
